Dangerous tree

Reported via mobile in the Vegetation (grass/hedges/trees) (NH) category anonymously at 23:14, Thu 2 March 2023

Sent to National Highways less than a minute later. FixMyStreet ref: 4278168.

There is a large tree in privately owned land adjacent to M20 j7 slip road north (London) bound carriageway.

The base of the tree has significant decay and I believe it is at risk of imminent failure. The crown of the tree and lean of the main stem would suggest the tree will collapse towards the motorway. It’s difficult to say, but in my estimation the tree would partially block some of the carriageway due to proximity and height.

I walk past this tree on a daily basis and the decay is getting worse month on month.

Although the tree is on private land, it is publicly accessible from Pendenden Heath should you wish to inspect it to liaise with the landowner.

I can send photos if required.
