Dangerous bump in road. POTENTIALLY LETHAL

Reported via desktop in the Road surface (NH) category anonymously at 20:07, Thu 2 March 2023

Sent to National Highways less than a minute later. FixMyStreet ref: 4277943.

When first constructed this road surface was smooth. I’ve noticed a dangerous bump developing for some months, particularly hazardous to single track vehicles (powered two wheelers) as the PTW may still be banked over since exiting the roundabout. Needs addressing soonest; at the very least signage and possible speed restriction.

Updates

  • Nearly two years on, and this serious defect hasn’t been addressed. There are not even temporary warning signs of uneven road that could easily cause a single track vehicle (powered two wheeler) to lose its course, or lose control, especially when banked over. I’ve witnessed less severe “speed bumps”! How long must we wait until serious injury or death occurs as a result of the sudden, uneven surface where many vehicles may still be negotiating the corner?
