Dangerous slip road queues

Dangerous queues here nearly every morning due to traffic trying to merge off onto exit slip and traffic merging from a1 onto m18. Traffic trying to merge onto the exit slip road often has to come to a complete stop to try to merge in, with fast moving traffic, HGVs approaching behind. This is very dangerous, I’m very surprised a serious or fatal accident hasn’t already happened. Surely this is being observed on the Highways cameras. And from other reports above. Why is it not being identified as a problem, why is nothing being done about this?

We're aware of congestion at this location, particularly during peak hours. We can advise that the location is monitored by CCTV, and we set appropriate signs and signals for drivers when required. We’ve checked the timing of the traffic lights at the roundabout, and we can confirm these are working correctly. We’re currently in the early stages of a junction improvement scheme which will help reduce congestion at this junction.
