Traffic exiting Jet Garage at junction of Eastfield Road / Humber Road, Killingholme

Reported via desktop in the Road markings (NH) category anonymously at 09:37, Wed 1 March 2023

Sent to National Highways less than a minute later. FixMyStreet ref: 4272921.

Jet filling station at the junction of Eastfield Road and Humber Road Killingholme has entrances to site on both Humber Road, and Eastfield Road. The exit from site is onto Eastfield Road and leads directly into a yellow box outside the entrance to Trinity House site opposite. Vehicles leaving the Jet Garage usually turn right towards the traffic lights at the junction with Humber Road and then have to stop and wait for the lights to change. The majority of these vehicles, and in particular articulated HGV's pull onto Eastfield Road and stop in the yellow box at the entrance to Trinity House, blocking all access to and from the site from all directions. Articulated HGV's are often only able to partially exit the Jet filling station so stop across the carriageway, either partially or fully obstructing access in southerly direction along Eastfield Road. Positioning of vehicles in the yellow box results in the following; Traffic travelling northwards along Eastfield Road is frequently obstructed from entering either the Jet filling station, or Trinity House site. Traffic travelling southwards from the lights is frequently prevented from travelling any further than the exit of the filling station, and obstructed from accessing Trinity House site. Traffic exiting Trinity House Site is frequently prevented from exiting the site in either direction. Yellow box is in poor condition due to wear and tear, and in some lighting and weather conditions can be difficult to see. Drivers of a number of vehicles have indicated that they are aware of the yellow box, and also that they have stopped their vehicle in a yellow box. Due to the proximity of these obstructions to a busy junction, it is likely that an RTA will occur if remedial action isn't taken to rectify this situation. Actions that would be appropriate would include, but not necessarily be limited to the following; Road markings to be re-painted, high urgency. Appropriate signage put in place, and enforcement by the appropriate authorities to ensure road safety is maintained. At present road safety is significantly compromised. Local government (Council) have shown no interest in this issue and directed to yourselves as the responsible party. Please act on this before there is an RTA and someone gets hurt.

Updates
