Traffic light sequence incorrect

Reported via mobile in the Traffic lights (NH) category anonymously at 18:15, Tue 28 February 2023

Sent to National Highways less than a minute later. FixMyStreet ref: 4271742.

Traffic signals at the intersection of Queen street and the A63 are causing a build up of traffic as far as the king George Dock roundabout. The sequence changes to stop the traffic on the A63 as soon as cars arrive on queen street to join the main road this means that to allow 1 or 2 cars to join all the traffic is halted on the a63. Lights only stay green for 10-15 seconds for A63 traffic.

This was a problem in November/December 2022 but was fixed until Monday 27th feb 2023 where they seemingly went wrong once again.

To reduce congestion on this busy road this sequence needs to be corrected to prioritise the large volume of traffic and not the few cars joining here. After this point traffic is free flowing along the rest of the A63.
