Multiple pot holes and badly eroded surface

A12 Southbound, exit to Maldon Road junction, exit sliproad has many potholes, particularly close to roundabout, attempts to swerve and avoid are almost impossible and dangerous to cars, small vans and smaller road vehicles. This problem has persisted and worsened over more than 12 months.

  • Thank you for informing our Customer Contact Centre about the potholes on the A12 slip-road to the A414 at Sandon. I appreciate you taking the time to report this. I’ve passed your observations to our maintenance team for further prompt investigation. Potholes can be hazardous and we have processes in place to ensure they are made safe quickly. We carry out frequent safety patrols to monitor the condition of the road. Any potholes or defects we find are recorded. Repairs are then prioritised based on the severity of the defect.
