All the traffic lights at junction 10 of the M20 need updating

Reported via desktop in the Traffic lights (NH) category anonymously at 20:55, Sun 26 February 2023

Sent to National Highways less than a minute later. FixMyStreet ref: 4265673.

Many times as I have approached the traffic lights from multiple directions of J10. I have observed them turning from green to red, and therefore have been stopped, in spite of the fact nothing is waiting either on the roundabout, or waiting to join the roundabout. Nor does any vehicle appear whilst I am idling there, simply polluting the atmosphere and wasting petrol. Only when my traffic light turns green does a vehicle then approach to newly changed to red traffic lights, which means they are then idling and polluting the atmosphere. It would be better to makes these traffic lights only work during rush hour. In other words, in the quieter times (particularly in the evening, or on a Sunday morning) the lights are so unnecessary as to be a hindrance, and a hazard to the health of the environment and local residents by the extra fumes released into the atmosphere by idling vehicles. Besides the fact they are wasting money by remaining on whilst not needed.
