Blank overhead sign between two gantry signs giving instructions

Travelling along the eastbound M27 approx between junction 5 to 8 at approx 1540hrs on 21/02/2023. Initial signs were illuminated requiring traffic to reduce speed due to a blocked lane (car stranded). The next overhead sign was then blank with no instructions. This blank overhead sign was the last sign prior to the next overhead sign which was another speed restriction. This is misleading to motorists.
