Pot holes in both directions on A45 getting worse and will likely cause an accident.

Reported via desktop in the Pothole (NH) category anonymously at 19:55, Mon 20 February 2023

Sent to National Highways less than a minute later. FixMyStreet ref: 4238102.

These pot holes are getting bigger and deeper, soon they will be the cause of an accident as drivers swerve to avoid them. The whole road needs resurfacing rather than patching up.

Updates

  • Usually bad but today I was sent off course by the one eastbound as you go over the flyover on the baginton/ Styvechale island. I was travelling less than the 50 mph speed limit as weather was poor, but the pothole was invisible on the poorly lit road and so deep that hitting it caused the car to veer sharply to one side. I thought I might have blown a tyre it was that deep. If we had been on our motorbike we’d have been off. Needs fixing urgently. Very dangerous.

  • Deep pothole going in direction of Tollbar caused my alloy wheel to buckle which has subsequently caused deflation of my tyre. This occurred on Thursday 9th March and several cars required roadside assistance for either punctures or buckled wheels on Friday 10th March
