The concrete surface on this stretch of the motorway has become dangerous, road markings have become invisible and misleading. I have witnessed multiple near misses during recent weeks and all due to drivers not being able to see lines on the surface.
Thank you for your report concerning road surfacing issues on the M27 between junctions 5 and 7.
We currently have plans to completely resurface the concrete stretch of the M27, including repainting markings. We aim to increase the visual distinction between the markings and the road itself, as well as reducing the visibility of joint materials which may cause confusion. This scheme will add a thick layer of asphalt on top of the concrete that’s currently in place there, and it is due to start in Spring 2023, lasting approximately 12-18 months to complete.
