Street lights need lamps.

I reported this last year and we are still waiting. these lights have not been serviced in years. In the morning it is pitch dark when coming from a lit area, there is one lamp that is cycling on every so often. and plunges drivers and riders int total darkness on the bend as the road enters the A2. this is a danger to motorcyclists and drivers who may not see the bend until it is too late. This road should be lit. It is a fast bit of road with a speed limit of 50 going to 70. I have myself had some near misses due to not being able to see clearly when thew lights go out. bike headlights are not efficient as they only light up the road a few feet in front. so if there is something in the road we are not likely to see it, The road runs bettween fields and trees so it is a potential for wild animals to run across thew road.

Thank you for your report concerning the broken lighting on the A2.
We carried out overnight scouting inspections along the A2 on 26 January, when many of the lights and lamps were defected. We're looking short term fixes to get some of the lights working (subject to traffic management so the works can be carried out safely).
As so many of the lamps are old sodium lamps and now obsolete with parts difficult to source we will be considering a long term solution to replace all the lights. This will be subject to funding, surveys and design and will not be a quick fix.
Kind regards
National Highways
