No white lines on roundabout - dangerous safety issue

Reported via mobile in the Road markings (NH) category anonymously at 15:39, Fri 3 February 2023

Sent to National Highways less than a minute later. FixMyStreet ref: 4200831.

I use this roundabout every day and have had several near misses in recent weeks, I was almost wiped out by a foreign lorry driver as there are no lane markings (white lines) as they have faded away. This is now critically dangerous and has been an issue for months - it is only a matter of time before there is a fatal collision. Please re-paint the lane road markings as soon as possible.

Updates

  • Thank you for your report concerning road markings.

We are aware of this issue and works are still in the planning stage due to the complex nature of the traffic management layout required to carry out the works safely. Whilst I can't give a date for the works to start we are aiming to have the work completed by the end of Spring 23.

    Kind regards

    National Highways

  • I reported this over a year ago and nothing happened and no update given, I was nearly taken out last week by a van because the road markings are so bad.
