Road workers at risk

Reported via desktop in the Roadworks (NH) category anonymously at 10:57, Wed 1 February 2023

Sent to National Highways less than a minute later. FixMyStreet ref: 4192168.

At MP 245 north-bound, an operative was standing on the edge of the hard-shoulder adjacent to Lane 1 cleaning cones on the carriageway edge-marking. He was facing away from on-coming traffic. The cones provided a taper ahead of VarioGuard protection to an existing bridge parapet. The cones needed cleaning, but with some spare cones the operation could have been safely done from within the VarioGuard protection, placing cones on position after cleaning.
