Lots of litter

The amount of litter on roundabout, slip roads and all sling side of carriageway from J4 to J2 is incredible now and really needs collecting. Also noticed odd tyre, random cones too by crash barriers between junctions. Litter is literally everywhete and in central reservation ateas too. Please sort this out as horrible eyesore now. Thanks

We're sorry to hear about littering along the M2. Please be assured that litter is a serious issue, and we share your concern about the amount of rubbish that is discarded on our roads.
We carry out regular litter inspections along the A2 west from Dartford and the M2, with our most recent inspection on 26 January. Following our inspector’s recommendations, we’ve instructed our maintenance partners to arrange litter picks, starting on the eastbound carriageway including slips. In addition to litter picking, other maintenance such as grass cutting and gully clearance will be carried out.
We’ve instructed the works to be carried out within 28 days, subject to suitable traffic management approval, to provide a safe working environment for the crews. Once the eastbound verges and slips have been picked, we will turn our attention westbound.
Whilst, were responsible for the slips at junction 4, the roundabout is the responsibility of the local authority.
