Traffic lights sequence fault

Reported via mobile in the Traffic lights (NH) category anonymously at 01:48, Fri 27 January 2023

Sent to National Highways less than a minute later. FixMyStreet ref: 4175085.

The traffic lights on the A27 at the junction with Shoreham airport and the Coombes road are going to red after 10 seconds even though there are no other cars anywhere. This fault has been reported so many times and yet nothing is being done to rectify this problem. It's causing tail backs for no reason. Clearly there is a fault with the traffic lights and I can't understand why no one has been out to fix the problem. And yet we have cones 300 metres from the traffic lights closing off 1 lane each way for no reason whatsoever. So we have a fault that no one from the highways agency seems to have no any intension to resolve and cones in the road nearby for no reason whatsoever. This makes absolutely no sense. I would like someone to call me back on the number I have provided to discuss this matter further and maybe correct me for being so negative about this issue.

Updates

  • The problem with the Coombs Road light is still a problem with traffic trying to get out on the coombs road junction onto the A27

  • The traffic lights at the A27 Shoreham Flyover heading east/west are not green for long enough, causing huge tailbacks either side. Please can they stay green for longer?
