No warning of lane closure ahead

Reported via desktop in the Sign issue (NH) category anonymously at 19:45, Wed 25 January 2023

Sent to National Highways less than a minute later. FixMyStreet ref: 4170889.

A27 one lane still closed indefinitely Eastbound from Lancing Manor roundabout. There is absolutely no warning of this further back and there is chaos on the roundabout. Queue at 6.15pm went from the junction with Manor Road right down to the roundabout where there were still two lanes on that approach. That journey of approx 1/4 mile took 15 mins. Signage please!

Updates

  • Thank you for your report concerning a lane closure on the A27, Lancing Manor Road.

We're sorry about the inconvenience recently experienced along this stretch of the A27 whilst we & others worked to ensure the A27 was safe for all road users following the low temperatures and unprecedented amount of water that followed onto the A27 from adjacent land.

On the 25 January control of the road was under UK Power Networks who were working to make safe power outages.

Whilst they were responsible for the traffic management it would have complied with all standards. Kind regards
