Dangerous lane closure

Sent to National Highways less than a minute later. FixMyStreet ref: 4170638.

Extremely dangerous lane closure on the dual carriage way exit of the roundabout. There is no change to zip filter and as you are checking mirrors to exit the roundabout the lane is instantly closed. It is also causing carnage at rush hours and people are nearly colliding with each other fighting to get into 1 lane. The common sense/safest thing to do would be allow the 2 lanes on the dual carriage way and give people 100-200meters to merge in turn.

  • Thank you for your report concerning a lane closure on the A27, Lancing Manor Road.

    We're sorry about the inconvenience recently experienced along this stretch of the A27 whilst we & others worked to ensure the A27 was safe for all road users following the low temperatures and unprecedented amount of water that followed onto the A27 from adjacent land.

    On the 25 January control of the road was under UK Power Networks who were working to make safe power outages.

    Whilst they were responsible for the traffic management it would have complied with all standards.
