The traffic lights stop working each morning

The traffic lights on the A1 north slip road onto the A1/a69 roundabout don't change every time like they do normally at none peak hours. We live in the estate adjacent and therefore are familiar with the sequence (when the Central roundabout lights to allow continue onto the A1 north are green so are the ones at the end of the slip road).

When the issue happens the lights change every three-five cycles and this happens nearly daily at around 8am/8.30am and causing a large issue including tailbacks on to the A1 and also blocks up the roundabout when it is then having to be used as a roundabout (unless you want to sit there for nearly 20mins rather than go through a red light). It has been happening for at least the last 6 months, but it is becoming more common, happening both on Friday and then again this morning.

It needs to be sorted as a very serious accident is likely to occur due to the speed of cars coming around the roundabout from the A1 south and the a69 (West road) heading west. Furthemore, a 15minute journey took me 35mins this morning due to the traffic caused, adding to air pollution issues and also creating impatience with drivers, likely increasing the risk of an accident!

  • Numerous customers calling to report the lights are stuck on red and causing mayhem. A1 slip road heading north to the A69 approaching roundabout. Said they've been reporting them for quite some time now.

  • The traffic lights were faulty again this morning, traffic was building up on the slip road, cars were were starting to just pull out, causing blocked lanes on the roundabout.

  • Lights stuck on red again this morning, happens every morning at around 9am-9:05am as the light timing switch from rush hour to regular hours. This happened daily, Traffic backs up and you are left with no option but to risk going out on a red light, or wait ages till it changes.
