Fused streetlights

Reported via desktop in the Street lighting (NH) category anonymously at 12:33, Thu 19 January 2023

Sent to National Highways less than a minute later. FixMyStreet ref: 4148833.

OVERHEAD LIGHTING ON A47/B1140 NORTH BURLINGHAM, NORFOLK & SOUTH WALSHAM ROAD Northbound.

Engineers repaired these lights at the end of November, sadly they have fused once again. It is most important on this notorious junction that lighting is maintained ( just two overhead columns on each junction will suffice. This is an accident blackspot where there is no slip-road from the A47 turning northbound onto the South Walsham Road.

Updates

  • Thank you for contacting National Highways about the streetlights being out on and around the Acle Roundabout on the A47. The lamps in the area are being upgraded to have light emitting diode (LED) bulbs instead of the current incandescent bulbs which are obsolete. LEDs are more energy efficient and last longer so this will rectify the outages here. This work is being planned to be done sometime within the next 3 months as soon as we receive confirmation from the structural testing team. Thank you again for your report. Kind regard National Highways
