Road markings between Junction 5 and 7 are appalling.

Reported via desktop in the Road markings (NH) category anonymously at 09:36, Wed 18 January 2023

Sent to National Highways less than a minute later. FixMyStreet ref: 4143784.

The amount of joins on the road mean that you can't see the road markings here, I have already seen two almost accidents because of this. It needs sorting as a safety priority. People can't see where they are supposed to be on the road.

Updates

  • Thank you for your report concerning road markings on the M27.

We currently have plans to completely resurface the stretch of motorway between junctions 5 and 7, including repainting markings. This scheme will add a thick layer of asphalt on top of the concrete that’s currently in place there, and it is due to start in Spring 2023, lasting approximately 12-18 months to complete. Up-to-date information can be found at the following link as we make it available:

    Kind regards
