Updates

  • Thank you for your report concerning a lane closure on the A31 at Picket Post.

We apologise for the confusion and delay caused by this closure.

This lane wasn't closed as part of a roadworks scheme, but rather because water seepage and low overnight temperatures meant this lane was hazardous to drive on due to ice. We are currently looking into solutions to address this issue in ongoing cold weather.

We thank you for your understanding and for driving safely on our roads.

  • Why do the cones need to start over a mile before the actual burst water main. This is not necessary and is causing the length of the traffic jam to be worse, with two days in a row being delayed by over an hour.

  • Absolutely disgusting sat in traffic for over an hour . When are you reopening the lane ?

  • Cones still in place with no obvious problem or work being undertaken. Well over a mile of single lane traffic, causing major hold ups and some very upset drivers!
