Dangerous Zebra Crossing.

Reported via desktop in the Sign issue (NH) category by John Haywood at 11:03, Sat 14 January 2023

Sent to National Highways less than a minute later. FixMyStreet ref: 4127396.

(John Haywood, Town Councillor for Ringwood North)

A number of residents have contacted me with this issue, some in significant distress having had a close run in with a car not stopping on a poorly-sighted zebra crossing.

Given the amount of traffic on the roads here, the position of this crossing at a major road network node, the poor sightlines, signage and lighting in this place on what is a major pedestrian and cycling route between two parts of Ringwood, it is only a matter of time before someone is seriously injured or killed here.

I most strongly urge National Highways to upgrade this crossing (and the identical one on the south side of the A31) to full Toucan crossings before someone gets killed here.
