Flooding on the A35 where the junction of the Hill meets the A35 EX137RY

Reported via mobile in the Flooding/drainage (NH) category anonymously at 11:44, Thu 12 January 2023

Sent to National Highways less than a minute later. FixMyStreet ref: 4118581.

This has been reported on Devon County council but it seems it is a highways problem There is a huge amount of water on the road due to blocked drains either side of the junction. Hope someone can inspect it soon as it is 50mph in that section

Updates

  • Still significant water running across the junction down the A35. Looks like the drain pipe that goes under The Hill running to the side and parallel to the A35 is blocked spilling water on to the A35. Vehicles traveling toward Honiton create a huge wave of water over pedestrians at the bus stop and vehicles exiting the hill onto A35. Danger of aquaplaning too.

  • This has been getting worse every day. My concern is with the forecast lower temperatures the whole road will ice over and create the perfect ice rink - not looking forward to using this road (school bus route X5)
