M6 northbound J11 Exit slip road, Confusion over lane markings

On M6 northbound junction 11 exit slip road, there is confusion amongst drivers over whether or not you are allowed to use the left lane if you want to head onto A460 towards Cannock.

The lane marking says A460 ( doesn’t say whether Westbound only or both directions) and the arrows say “straight on and left”.

Straight on would suggest re-entering the M6 northbound, which no one is likely to want to do - so some drivers think “Straight on and left” must mean you can use the left lane to head for both directions of A460.

At the same time, some drivers think the fact you don’t see an arrow pointing to the right in Lane 1 means you have to be in the right hand lane to turn onto A460 towards Cannock.

This confusion leads to A) Awkward situations where drivers with those conflicting interpretations meet part way round the roundabout - especially awkward with/for HGVs B) Preventable long queues down the exit sliproad.

The marking in the left lane needs to make it clearer whether or not it means A460 Westbound only.
