Uneven poor road surface on M3 J4 slip towards A331 & Blackwater Valley Road

Location: 51.317535, -0.759527 This section of the M3 East bound J4 slip has been patched up before. This section of road has deteriorated again and requires a more permanent solution as the poor, uneven road surface does't provide adequate grip to safely brake as you approach the junction particularly in wet or icy weather.

  • Thank you for your report concerning damaged road surfacing on the M3.

    We’re aware of the surfacing issues on this slip road, and we have plans to resurface this stretch of road this year. Unfortunately, due to the materials used in this resurfacing scheme, we can't begin these works until later in the year, as the quality of surfacing is impacted by weather and will be much more effective and durable if laid during the warmer, drier months. We thank you for your patience, and reassure you that in the meantime this stretch of road is monitored weekly and any safety critical damage logged for emergency repairs.
