Request for additional signage on RHS of slip road

Reported via desktop in the Sign issue (NH) category anonymously at 11:46, Wed 4 January 2023

Sent to National Highways less than a minute later. FixMyStreet ref: 4085044.

There are still challenges for drivers exiting the M4 Westbound at Junction 15 and using all three lanes to go right (which they can). A number of people seem to think you're just trying to get in front of them and whilst I acknowledge you cannot account for poor driving behaviours, may I please urge you to consider an extra sign on the RHS of the slip road that mirrors that on the LHS. The LHS sign which indicates all three lanes can go right, is not the clearest or obviously visible to those who are towards the right of the slip road. Please can I request a second sign, on the RHS of the slip road.

Updates

  • Thank you for contacting National Highways concerning the M4 at junction 15.

We've designed the scheme to current standards and have carried out an independent road safety audit. Neither of which has highlighted the need for an extra sign. We'll however, continue to monitor the situation and will take action as necessary.

If you require any further information please contact our Customer Contact Centre on 0300 123 5000 or info@nationalhighways.co.uk.

    Kind regards
