Parapet panels being removed leaving unguarded drop onto M62

Reported via desktop in the Structures (eg bridges, fencing, noise barriers) (NH) category anonymously at 17:00, Tue 3 January 2023

Sent to National Highways less than a minute later. FixMyStreet ref: 4082077.

Reports from the public and local Councillor received by Wakefield Council's Bridges and Highway Structures team that panels are being removed from the bridge that carries Holmfield Lane over the M62 motorway at Holmfield Interchange. 30/12/2022. The bridge has been identified as being owned and maintained by National Highways. There is an immediate danger to the public using the bridge due to unguarded drop. The panels are being easily removed and it is feasible that this is theft in progress because they are being stacked at the bridge. Please can the immediate danger be removed and investigation made to provide measures to prevent future removal is possible. Thank you.
