Vegetation has grown too high

Reported via desktop in the Vegetation (grass/hedges/trees) (NH) category anonymously at 22:33, Mon 2 January 2023

Sent to National Highways less than a minute later. FixMyStreet ref: 4078675.

Heading south down the A23 and exiting on this slip road to turn onto the A2300 the vegetation to the right as you approach the roundabout coming up the slip road is now so high that it obstructs the drivers view, significantly slowing the traffic and causing tailbacks down the slip road onto the A23. Removing the vegetation will significantly improve the traffic flow, particularly during morning peak times.

This wasn't an issue 2 - 3 years ago, but the vegetation is now so high it slows all the traffic.

Updates

  • Thank you for your report concerning vegetation obstructing sightlines.

Our inspector visited the location and the condition of the vegetation is not safety critical.

However, he has requested that vegetation maintenance be planned and carried out prior to the bird nesting season starting in March.

    Kind regards
