Misogynistic offensive graffiti

Reported via desktop in the Graffiti (NH) category anonymously at 14:29, Sat 31 December 2022

Sent to National Highways less than a minute later. FixMyStreet ref: 4072197.

The name Tate has been painted in massive letters on the wall of the bridge which carries the A38 dual carriageway over the local Bickington to Haytor road at Bickington in South Devon. This is a clear reference to and shows support for the recently arrested online hate misogynist Andrew Tate and needs to be removed asap as it is very offensive.

Updates

  • Thank you for contacting National Highways concerning graffiti.

We've forwarded your concerns to our maintenance team. Any graffiti which is obscene or offensive will be prioritised and removed as quickly as possible.

Removal of graffiti can require specialist contractors or traffic management to keep our workforce safe. This means that it is not cost-effective to remove every instance of graffiti on its own. Graffiti which doesn’t meet the criteria above will therefore be logged and removed during the next round of periodic cleaning taking place in the area.

If you require any further information please contact our Customer Contact Centre on 0300 123 5000 or info@nationalhighways.co.uk.

    Kind regards

    National Highways
