Lane 1 closed

Sent to National Highways less than a minute later. FixMyStreet ref: 4055697.

Lane 1 is closed on the south-bound carriageway between J30-31. No roadworks are being carried out and the road surface is intact. The lane closure is causing extensive delays on the approach.

  • Thank you for contacting National Highways concerning the lane closure.

    A defect has been identified on the Exe Viaduct which is not clearly visible to the motorway users. The repairs need a specialist team and parts which will be available in January.

    In the meantime, the relaxed traffic management that was initially installed for the inspection has been upgraded and supplementary signs warning of traffic queues have also been erected.
