Bollards on Footbridge over the A27 are too close together to allow wheelchairs through

Reported via desktop in the Pavement/footpath/cycleway/bridleway issue (NH) category anonymously at 14:22, Sun 18 December 2022

Sent to National Highways less than a minute later. FixMyStreet ref: 4041986.

There are two concrete bollards situated at the Northern side of the footbridge over the A27 (which I presume National Highways are responsible for). The bollards are too close together and prevents all wheelchairs & buggies over this bridge

  • Thank you for contacting National Highways regarding the bollard obstruction on the footpath to the north side of the bridge over the A27, Patcham.

Whilst the actual structure is our responsibility to maintain, the footpath/right of way across the bridge is the responsibility of the local authority (Brighton & Hove City Council).

    Kind regards,
