Cats eyes

Reported via desktop in the Road markings (NH) category anonymously at 08:00, Sun 18 December 2022

Sent to National Highways less than a minute later. FixMyStreet ref: 4041507.

Travelling last night between Junctions 29 and 27 northbound and the cats eyes are either totally obscured or missing. A serious accident last night here, but the very poor quality of cats eyes does nothing to help motorists. Can they be cleaned or replaced?

Updates

  • Thank you for contacting National Highways concerning cats eyes.

In the South West, we've a renewal programme for road markings and cats eyes. We're hoping to start delivering this work in the week commencing 12 December 2022 for one week, then continuing into January 2023. This work however is subject to change, and is particularly dependant on good weather allowing us to work. Generally road makings and cats eyes(or studs) are refreshed every 3 years as a rolling project, or as and when a need presents itself.

If you require any further information please contact our Customer Contact Centre on 0300 123 5000 or info@nationalhighways.co.uk.

    Kind regards
