Faulty road sign

Reported via desktop in the Sign issue (NH) category anonymously at 16:30, Wed 14 December 2022

Sent to National Highways less than a minute later. FixMyStreet ref: 4035199.

This information sign has been faulty for several weeks. The bottom row has 8 permanently lit blocks, which obscures the most important part of the message on the screen - how long to the A1 junction.

  • This sign is still faulty. I am concerned that it is a safety issue as the bright strip of lights from the sign creates a distraction and in some weather conditions can reduce visibility of slow traffic ahead. I question whether the fault may have contributed to the accident on 9.12.22.
