This is more of a suggestion than a problem, when the road gets put back to normal, can't the lane become 3 lanes rather than two? There is space as there is currently 3 lanes as part of the contra flow but when the road works aren't there if you were wanting to turn left down the A1165 or go right at the roundabout you had to sit in the same congested traffic as everyone continuing straight on down Roger Millward Way. With the third lane entry extended up on to the bridge rather than after the bridge it will allow those going left or right at the roundabout to leave the long queue of traffic sooner, helping alive ate the tailbacks on Castle Street and beyond. I would like you to consider this when you revert the road back to normal from the current contraflow as surely it makes more sense to extend this lane onto the bridge rather than having hatched lines on empty road space as it currently is.

Thank you for contacting us about creating three lanes of traffic instead of the current two lanes and a hatched lane.
The safety of road users and free flowing traffic are some of our main priorities so your email and the suggestions made are extremely important to us.
I can confirm that upon completion of the essential refurbishment works at Myton Bridge, there will be three permanent lanes of traffic in each direction to improve traffic flow and reduce delays. The current hatched lanes will be turned into running lanes.
I do hope this helps but if you do require any further information please do not hesitate to get back in touch.
