Traffic Lights change in priority causing large tailbacks

Reported via desktop in the Traffic lights (NH) category anonymously at 14:21, Fri 9 December 2022

Sent to National Highways less than a minute later. FixMyStreet ref: 4025497.

The traffic light sequence at this junction has been changed without consultation and the flow of traffic is being seriously disrupted. About two weeks ago the issue started and now it can take up to an hour to travel through this junction when in the past four years it has been less than 5 minutes. Google maps shows the congestion caused and is easy to see. Previous similar complaints on here about the same issue have been closed without feedback or rectification . Some people work 12 hour shifts in this area of the city and this change is adding two hours onto their working day when excessive travel time is taken into account. I was parked at the lights when they were red yesterday and no other traffic was sat waiting at any other junction to join the A63 and traffic was being held for no reason at all.
