Poor signal timing for nothbound A322 at M3 junction

Reported via mobile in the Traffic lights (NH) category anonymously at 20:19, Fri 2 December 2022

Sent to National Highways less than a minute later. FixMyStreet ref: 4011600.

If signal timing at this junction could be changed so that there are a few more seconds when signal is red for M3 southbound joining A322 as well as for A322 southbound, then the northbound A322 traffic would have a better chance of entering the junction. The delays for northbound A322 traffic entering the junction are excessive for too much of the day.

Updates

  • Signal sequencing continues to be an issue here, causing ridiculously long queues in both directions on the A322. The lights for exiting the M3 need to remain red for a bit longer to allow traffic from the A322 to enter the roundabout, or utilise the lights at the pedestrian crossing on the roundabout
