Struck PBU Pedestrian crossing Traffic Signals Wilders Way / Kegworth
Reported via desktop in the Traffic lights (NH) category anonymously at 11:27, Wed 30 November 2022
Sent to National Highways less than a minute later. FixMyStreet ref: 4005147.
I have had a report of pedestrian crossing being on permanent demand (i.e. struck push button) at his location from Mr Mobley, who has been given the run around has to who is responsible for resolving this issue. These signals are not managed and maintained by Leicestershire County Council and are a National Highways asset. However I think the confusion here is that the ped crossing / bus priority signals are not on the NH network and is on a unadopted road, but this is a remote signal installation, which is part of the main roundabout signals serving the East Midlands Gateway and therefore a NH asset.
Therefore I would be grateful if you could forward this on to the maintenance team for action please.

This is a new "issue" There are 2 sets of lights here but they are not synchronised. I was nearly killed there on my bicycle the other day - I was coming from the SEGRO estate to join the A6 Kegworth bypass. My light was on green but the traffic coming up the hill on the A453 was on red. HOWEVER, there are 2 sets of lights there and the lights further ahead on the A453 were on green - clearly the motorist had been looking at the lights further on and mistakenly believed he could go. YIKES ! I had a narrow escape. This must be a common problem - could the two sets of lights not be synchronised to avoid this issue ??
