Road sinking causing sharp lip in road

Reported via desktop in the Pothole (NH) category anonymously at 13:26, Mon 28 November 2022

Sent to National Highways less than a minute later. FixMyStreet ref: 3999593.

M3 northbound there is a small section of black tarmac and right after it where it changes back to concrete the road has sunk which has caused a dip in the road. The problem is that there is now a sharp 'lip' back up to normal road level which causes a big impact to wheels & suspension to cars that go over it. I've seen similar issues which then cause flat tyres, bent alloys and ruined suspension. Please rectify this to ensure the lip is removed and the pothole/sunken section of road is smoothed out.

Updates

  • Thank you for your report concerning uneven road surfacing on the M3.

We’re aware of the surfacing issue in this area, and we have a repair planned to take place before March 2023. In the meantime, we're monitoring the area and arranging emergency repairs when necessary, and we have installed signage in the area to warn road users of the uneven road surface.

    Kind regards
