Left filter arrows onto A31

Reported via desktop in the Road markings (NH) category anonymously at 13:40, Fri 25 November 2022

Sent to National Highways less than a minute later. FixMyStreet ref: 3993383.

Leaving Ringwood on the B3347 to travel west on A31. Two lanes approaching the roundabout and the left one now has an arrow indicating A31 only. I think traffic travelling straight across and on to the A338 Salisbury Road should be able to use the left hand lane, as used to be the case before the new roadworks. The new filter makes no sense. Traffic going north and to the east on A31 now queue in right hand lane and left lane is free so some cars use it and go north on A338 anyway causing confusion on the roundabout. Can the left filter arrow be removed? Regards

  • Thank you for contacting National Highways on 25 November 2022 regarding the A31 Ringwood Improvement Scheme.

Please be aware that the signs and road markings were part of the scheme’s design which was consulted upon and approved prior to works starting.
