Most street lights are not working, very dangerous!

Reported via mobile in the Street lighting (NH) category by Samuel Bentley at 20:15, Tue 22 November 2022

Sent to National Highways less than a minute later. FixMyStreet ref: 3985235.

Street lighting on Bere Regis Roundabout A35 and A31.

I would like to report that a lack of street lighting has become so dangerous and unsafe. Only 3 of them work now, with the bulk of them not working or blown. It has been this way for months, and nothing has been done to fix this, or warn drivers.

Please can this be looked at ASAP before conditions start to turn icy and become even more dangerous.

Faulty lights: A35: 1, 2, 3, 7, 8, 9, 10, 13, 14 A31: 527/01 (11) and 527/02 (12)

Updates

  • From the National Highways website:

    Bere Regis lighting column replacement

We’re replacing some of the lighting columns at the A31 Bere Regis junction to improve visibility and create safer journeys for all.

At first, you’ll see us clearing some overgrown vegetation and carrying out some surveys using 4-way temporary lights. These lights will be in place from Monday 20 February until Monday 20 March 2023.

There will be road closures in the future when we start our main construction work.

Please check back for future details.

  • All columns fixed bar Number 14, which National Highways say is the responsibility of Dorset Council.

    State changed to: Fixed
