Incorrect information on matrix sign

Reported via desktop in the Sign issue (NH) category anonymously at 14:08, Wed 16 November 2022

Sent to National Highways less than a minute later. FixMyStreet ref: 3969064.

The matrix sign just before the Jct 33 exit southbound on the M6 has said for weeks that it takes 18 minutes to get to Jct 32 via the A6. This is totally impossible, it's more like 30 minutes. I have no idea why this sign has been like this for so long, but it is very misleading and could cause increased traffic on the A6 for no reason.

  • Thank you for your report concerning the traffic information matrix and the times given for travelling through the works.

Our Project Manager has reviewed this and confirmed that the signs concerned take their information from Google in real time and that in most cases, the timings through the works to the next junction are correct. We shall continue to monitor this while the works are ongoing.
