Traffic Queues since changes to lights

Reported via desktop in the Traffic lights (NH) category anonymously at 12:26, Wed 9 November 2022

Sent to National Highways less than a minute later. FixMyStreet ref: 3950964.

Myself and my neighbours from Akeman Way and The Portway, Leeming Way are having to wait in long queues to get in/out in the morning and evening. It appears the length of time the green light is activated has changed and is too short. It also misses a turn of Green from Avonmouth Road. Please extend the length of time the green light is on and do not miss a turn of Green. During Rush hour and School Run times we are unable to pull out of Akeman Way as the road is blocked or cars will not let you out. Its so bad we will need to have a yellow box.

Updates

  • During rush hours the light sequence has changed causing long tailbacks. The delay is too long only allowing 5 or 6 cars to get through. Why was the sequence changed.

  • Thank you for your report concerning the traffic lights.

This is a known issue, there has been an update by Siemens traffic controls and it looks like they may have changed some settings.

We have requested them to return and check what has been done so they can correct the issue as it's not something we can do ourselves.

If you require any further update on this issue our Customer Contact Centre is available 24 hours a day at:

    • 0300 123 5000

    Kind regards
