Unfinished lighting maintenance

Reported via desktop in the Street lighting (NH) category anonymously at 09:24, Mon 7 November 2022

Sent to National Highways less than a minute later. FixMyStreet ref: 3943984.

Hi. There has been a temporary ‘reduced lighting’ sign for YEARS on this stretch of the A31. There are new lampposts finally installed in the last 12 months or so, but the old lampposts are all still there, cut off at about head height and wrapped in warning tape. They are an eyesore at best and potentially hazardous at worst. When will the old posts be removed AND the lighting can be brought back to full operation please? Thanks.

Updates

  • Thank you for your report concerning a temporary ‘reduced lighting’ sign.

We’re aware of this. The A31 Palmersford Lighting scheme is due to be back on site in February 2023 to complete over an 8 week period (night time closures).

We had to stops these works this year due to local authority works and ongoing works at Ringwood.

    Kind regards
