Ower roundabout

Reported via mobile in the Road markings (NH) category anonymously at 13:19, Sat 29 October 2022

Sent to National Highways less than a minute later. FixMyStreet ref: 3923124.

The road markings have been refurbished but entering the roundabout from Salisbury side the inside lane clearly shows you can proceed towards the M 27 as before .. But at the roundabout there is now a broken solid line .. very confusing and I’ve seen a few close calls there now ..

Updates

  • Thank you for your report concerning road markings on the A36.

Thank you for your report. We've reviewed the road markings installed following the resurfacing works and these are like for like replacements. This can also be seen on Google street view from a few years ago.

Vehicles approaching on the roundabout in lane 1 are assumed to be travelling onto the A3090 and should only cross to travel onto the M27 if safe to do so as the road markings do provide the guidance to continue onto the A3090.

Vehicles approaching the roundabout in lane 2 have the option to continue onto the A36 through to M27 or to Ower and the destination markings make a provision for this.
