Updates

  • Thank you for your report concerning temporary traffic lights on the A31.

These traffic lights were implemented as an emergency measure as we identified a BT manhole cover as posing a safety risk to road users. We apologise for the disruption they have caused. I can confirm that we coordinated with BT to finish emergency repairs yesterday afternoon (13 October 2022), and will be able to fully reopen the road once it has been made safe.

We appreciate your patience and understanding whilst we deal with our emergency safety repairs.

  • There are temporary traffic signals, cones, etc on the a31, a few hundred yds from the b3074 heading west. sign says contract to openreach, tarmac dug up around wobbly man hole cover, been like it for 4 days now, no workers ever there, traffic queues very bad. last year, similat work took place 1/2mile to the west on a31, job took nigh on 3 weeks, same same happening again. contractor needs a good kicking
