Dangerous queues on M18 exit slip junction 3 northbound

Traffic frequently during rush hour queueing all the way on the slip road back to where the A1 merges onto the M18 at Junction 2. This is dangerous and means that fast moving traffic on the m18 in the 2 live lanes cannot safely merge across onto the slip road. Often vehicles have to come to a complete standstill in the live lane just to try to merge across into a gap on the slip road where the queuing traffic is stationary or very slow moving. This has been the case for several years now and nothing appears to have been done about this. The previous road layout with 2 lanes along much of the length of the slip road worked much more effectively and was safer.

I cant say I've noticed recently, but I agree with this report, I used to travel this route regularly and ALWAYS used to be in the habit of getting in lane early despite the wait to get to the actual junction. I saw way too many near misses, people braking sharply to get in last second before they missed the junction, and even people pulling back out into traffic to try and get a bit further on! and its usually the poor HGV's that have to brake and/or swerve out of the way of such idiots. Very dangerous. I hope something can be done here to improve the situation. Though I think the sad fact is that the main problem is how people drive, not that I'm saying our roads are fine as they are...
Personally I think the whole area is pretty bad for roadworks, accidents, congestion and general motoring stress, probably from J3 all the way down to about Woodall Services, certainly from my experience anyway.

Hello I’m unsure if this is the right department to report this to.
I travel to Doncaster every morning on my way to work along the m18 north bound and when I try to come off jcn3 it is very dangerous trying to filter in to the left hand lane for Jcn 3 because other road uses don’t leave gaps for merge in turn as some of the traffic coming off the a1 also need to merge on to the m18.
This road really needs signs showing (allow merge in turn / leave space in front) because when a lorry or other traffic is coming very fast behind the traffic trying to go left it is just a matter of time until there is a major accident.
I see lots of near misses and very scary ones at that. This is the part of the road just after the a1 jcn2 leading up to jcn3 north bound.

Please do something about this motorway exit filter lane m18 jcn3 north bound please please please before someone gets badly injured in an accident or even worse killed.
The previous warnings that people have sent in are so true.
