A27 emsworth to Chichester

The a27 road east and west bound between emsworth and chichester is littered with potholes , I have counted 10 plus.

  • Thank you for your report concerning the carriageway condition between Emsworth and Chichester.

    We carry out weekly safety inspections along this stretch of the A27 and while we’re aware of surface defects, this is a concrete road with a tarmac overlay of 22/25mm and the loss of material won’t harm or damage a car and aren’t considered safety issues. We continue to monitor when any safety issues will be reported for urgent mitigation.

    Being aware of the carriageway deterioration we have in our forward programme a resurfacing scheme ‘A27 Chichester to Emsworth’. The scheme is currently in design, with anticipated construction in November 2022.
