Very unsafe procedure by highway maintenance worker

Reported via mobile in the Roadworks (NH) category anonymously at 22:18, Fri 30 September 2022

Sent to National Highways less than a minute later. FixMyStreet ref: 3860312.

Between Hewish and Westwick there is maintenance. We drove past at 10pm Friday 30th September. The left lane was being closed using cones so we were in the middle lane. As we drove down and reached the end of the cones the man was still placing them. Instead of placing them he was throwing them across almost half of the lane. We swerved violently as from the way he threw the cone we thought it was going to hit our car as we approached. This is incredibly unsafe as it’s dark and a completely in appropriate way to place the road work cones especially with cars travelling at 70mph.
