Updates

  • Thank you for your report concerning traffic signals on the A585/West Drive. We decided to re-design the junction’s traffic lights system. We currently have a MOVA (Microprocessor Optimised Vehicle Actuation) system in place. The original installation included Magnetometers that detected the vehicles. Sensors like this however have proved not to be very robust in these situations. Therefore, we investigated the potential of using more appropriate technology, and specifically an above ground detection system. The outcome of our assessment was that an above-ground detector system would be suitable. We now have a full design and we're planning the installation for November 2022. Following commissioning, this should better support the MOVA system resulting in a more efficient traffic flow at the junction.

    Kind regards
