Very serious bumps in southbound carriageway on A2 between Canterbury and Bridge, you are aware of this problem and have been for at least 3 years. This defect is way beyond intervention level and even at 50 mph can take the steering wheel from your hands. Duty of care, comes to mind.i

Updates

  • Thank you for your report concerning, road surface on the A2 between Canterbury and Bridge.

We’re aware of the issues of the road condition along this stretch of the A2. The stretch is currently monitored by our inspectors since August 2021. I can advise that a major scheme is currently under development which will involve full levelling and resurfacing between Nackington and Bridge, with anticipated construction in this financial year in the next coming months. The works is expected to be carried out in October. Currently, there’s an improvement and resurfacing scheme being carried out on the A2 between Whitfield and Lydden. Please be assured your feedback is welcomed and recognised. In the meantime, we’ll continue to review weekly when any safety issues will be raised for urgent mitigation. Kind regards
